The most important thing you can do to get your studio's name out there is to be consistent with your marketing. There is no better marketing tool right now than Facebook and it's free. And there's a cool feature that many don't know about and most don't use: Scheduled Facebook Posts. You write your post like normal but then schedule it to launch at a certain day and time instead of having to physically post it at a certain time each day. That means you can plan days, weeks, or months of posts at a time and always have fresh, consistent content for your followers. This is something that I've been meaning to do all year but just haven't gotten around to. Thus, November's Challenge is born. Below I'm going to list some ideas that I've been thinking about as far as different themes for each day. 3 posts per day is a solid amount for Facebook. I know that I get overwhelmed if I think about 21 posts per week or 84 posts per month. But, if you break them into categories it becomes a lot more manageable. I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to do yet, but here are some ideas: Motivation Mondays Post stories about successes in your studio. You can either tell a short story of a student/teacher, or even use a quote from a review that a parent has written. Motivation Mondays Use quotes from musicians and other people to motivate your students. Merch Mondays Have a store? Use it to highlight certain products and specials. Or even Studio Swag like T-Shirts and stickers. Mountain Monday What are some challenges and obstacles that you or students have overcome? Teacher Tuesdays Highlight a different teacher each week. Highlight aspects about teachers, gigs, availability, bio, stories, reviews about them. Think outisde the box. There is a lot that you can do here besides the obvious, "Meet Jill! She teaches piano and loves sugar cookies and reading!" Transformation Tuesdays Talk about a teacher or student in your studio and how they've grown through what your studio has to offer. Tip Tuesdays Post a quick music, teaching, or life tip. Bonus points for posting a video. Good News Tues Post something positive and uplifting. The world needs more happiness. Tutorial Tuesday Post quick video tutorials on topics, songs, or general tips. Wisdom Wednesday Share something smart and thought provoking for your followers. Throwback Thursdays Highlight something awesome in your studio that happened in the past. Even if it was yesterday. It's great for parents and students to see how far you've come. Feature Fridays Pick something in your studio to highlight each week. Maybe something that often gets overlooked. Fun Fact Fridays Pick something random about your teachers, studio, or students and talk about it. Straturday (For all of you guitar teachers out there) Post pics of your students that play Stratocasters or famous musicians with strats. Saturday Swag Highlight any studio gear like shirts, hats, stickers... Sunday Funday Post something fun about your studio Sunday Reads Post a book, blog, or article that you've found beneficial. Student of the Week Highlight a Student each week! Studio Tour Highlight a certain aspect of your studio that you want to bring attention to or that people don't normally see. Lessons Feature Talk about lessons, what you do, what you offer, etc. Available Spots Bring attention to a few open spots in your schedule and talk about the IDEAL student you want to attract: "We have openings at 4pm and 6pm on Tuesdays for piano lessons and are looking for some creative kids that are ready to try something new!" Referral Push Create a referral special or advertise your current one. Weekly Instrument Focus Pick a different instrument that you teach and highlight a different instrument each week. What do your students learn? What can they play? Only teach one instrument? Talk about the different styles or composers you teach. Performance Videos These don't have to be from recitals. Grab some videos of your students during their lessons. Classes or Groups Talk about what special classes or groups that you have going. Start advertising them about 6 weeks before they begin for maximum impact. Benefits of Music/Music Lessons There are tons of infographics and articles about why music and music are awesome and beneficial for people. Talk about this! Hero Days Post your musical heroes and people that you look up to. Q&A Ask and answer a popular question or a question that you think people may ask. ------------------------------------- Ok, those are just a few ideas to get you started. I'm really dorky and organized so I plan to take a few of these and plot out what I'm going to do in Google Docs listing as many ideas as I can think of for each one. My plan is to try to get a weeks worth of posts scheduled either today or tomorrow and then check in at least once a week to keep the queue strong. If I do it right I should be able to take an hour or so each week and keep posts scheduled weeks in advance. That way if I ever get busy or miss a week, I'm still good! What themes are you going to use? Ready to take your studio to the next level?
